The
BBWFanFest convention weekend hits its peak with the 2012
BBWFanFest Awards, which celebrates exceptional performance by plus-sized American pornographic and fetish entertainers. Awards range from Newcomer of the Year and Studio of the Year, to the Icon Award and more. The Awards, complete with red carpet and media support, was hosted by Creative BBW of the Year recipient
April Flores and BBW Fetish Site of the Year winner
Kelly Shibari.
” I am so proud of all of the winners and am truly honored to recognize my peers within our niche,” said
BBWFanFest Creative Director
Kari Anthony. ” The
BBWFanFest Awards were amazing this year, and will be even better in 2013 ! ”
The Awards show, held at the Tuscany Suites and Casino in Las Vegas, NV, was MC’d by Vegas local Foreplay and featured music by Claudia Marie’s
Trailer Park Trash and a comedy routine by Vaginal Vanessa. In addition to the awards given to current performers, the evening featured special recognition for a list of trailblazers that had worked as BBW adult entertainers long before it was considered anything but a novelty act.
Special Recognition Awards were also bestowed upon Las Vegas radio station
Sin City Bounty and
Fleshlight, who premiered their very first BBW Fleshlight at the convention.
” I could not possibly be more thrilled and proud of the success of the Awards and the event as a whole,” added
BBWFanFest Co-Creator
Desiree Devine. “The Awards were more than we could have hoped for and has set the bar for years to come. Congratulations to all the winners and we look forward to seeing who is nominated for next year ! ”

The
2012 Official BBWFanFest, a unique event and the first of its kind, was conceived and developed meticulously for nearly a year after having other shows refuse booth space to plus-sized models for not being ” height and weight proportionate ” and ostracized for showing off their curves. The convention was a weekend-long celebration of plus-size adult industry performers, also known as BBW performers. The organizers are already making preliminary plans for
BBWFanFest 2013 as well as strategizing plans to bring the event to the East Coast later this year.
